Design Inspiration

There is nothing i love more in this world than designing (and heels,lets not forget heels).I haven't designed a full collection since I went on my summer break. I've spent most of my summer so far focusing on improving my dress making skills so when I start uni in September I know what I'm doing. While looking at some of my baby pictures (as you do,when your bored and want to remember the hideous stuff your mum made you wear) I saw a flight of stairs in the background covered in moss and rust and I just thought...wow,the contrast between the colours and shapes of the moss and that of the concrete stairs was amazing so of course I had to use that idea and create some designs.

Lady in red

I was sorting out my wardrobe a couple days ago and realised I don't have anything in red. Like literally nothing. I was so shocked so I went on a hunt for a statement red piece to add to my wardrobe but I couldn't find anything I fell in love with so I'm gonna attempt to make a red chiffon maxi dress. Here are the sketches I drew. I'll start making it next week. I'm kinda nervous about how it will look but fingers crossed I can do it. Wish me luck! Rx

Leather & Spikes

I love going through my mums wardrobe. I always find something nice to borrow. And by 'borrow' I mean take and keep for myself. I found this sheer chiffon shirt with a leather collar and cuffs and I knew it belonged in my wardrobe lol I couldn't wait to wear it out so I decided to do a mini photo shoot with my lil bro (the things I put him through,poor boy lol) I paired it with leather shorts (used to be an old pair of leather trousers I found in a charity shop) and my JC spike Lita's. I felt like a rock star lol

Shoe envy - Jeffrey Campbell Dominique

I don't even know where to begin. I've literally been having dreams about these shoes. I want them so bad!! I love all Jeffrey Campbell heels but these are by far my fave! I currently own three pairs of JC's, the spike Lita's,night walks and vicious but I will give them all up for these! Ok that's a lie,I won't. but I still want them bad. I've searched all over the net for a UK stockist but can't find it anywhere. If anyone knows where to get them in the UK please please please let me know. I will love you for ever lol. Rx

 

 

DIY Ombre Nails

I've always wanted to do ombre nails. I tried doing them by myself once and it failed miserably lol (check out the train wreck here) . After that epic fail i decided to go get them professionally done at my nail salon but the airbrush machine wasn't working (grrr) so i had no choice but to drag my sorry ass home and try doing them myself.

It was actually surprisingly easy to do and you can do as many colours as you want. All you need is a sponge and the nail varnish you're going to use.

                 I used Blue moon by Beauty UK, Blue satin by Chanel and Black satin also by Chanel.

 First,I painted the whole nail with my base colour (the light blue). Its best to use your lightest colour as your base.

Then I brushed my second colour (the dark blue) over about half of the nail and quickly used the sponged to blend the edges and make a dissolving effect. Alternatively,you can paint the sponge and then dab it onto the nail.

I repeated the action with my darkest colour (black satin) and ta-da!

Simply add a clear coat and your done. Now I just need to get my mum to do my right hand lol

When in doubt,throw on a little black dress

So I was going through my phone (as you do when boredom strikes) and I saw these old pics. Can't believe I haven't posted them. I think I wore this outfit to a family dinner. The dress was originally a vintage over sized jumper I found at a thrift store but I took it in and made it fitted. It photographs blue for some unknown reason but its actually black. I lovelovelove this dress but I had to do like 200 sit ups the night before cos it shows everything! lol

Something new

Whenever people see me without make up they're like *gasp* *shock* why do you wear makeup!!! & I'm like,errrm,it makes me look pretty. I don't think i'm ugly but I feel like without my make up I look like the homeless man from down the road but since its summer I decided to try something new. I never have 'barely there' make up. Its always thick lashes,eyeliner n red lipstick (gosh I sound like a part time drag queen). Anyhooooo I decided to wear barely any make up and pretend to be in a make up advert (so sad,I know. don't judge) *covers face*

Mixed prints

Just a quick snapshot of what I wore today to the park. It wa sooo hot outside so wanted to wear shorts. I paired my leopard print shorts with a white crop top,aztec chiffon kimono style top,colour block wedges,and accessories. I will upload another post with the pics of me in the outfit :)

Glitter tip nails

New Buy!

Ok imma be honest, I don't like watches but after seeing these MK watches all over tumblr the voice inside my head kept saying get it get it GET ITT!! so I did *covers face*. Although I would never ever have spent £260 on a watch (partly because I'm not into them but mostly because i couldn't afford it. had to save for a month to get these bad boys. and I HATE saving! grr) that said,I absolutely LOVE it! Its soooo gorge! Ahhhh *stares at it*

DIY Outfit

I haven't really posted anything in a while but I haven't been going out as much lately because of fear of Olympic traffic but that's over now so I should be out and about again in not time(yaay).

as I had some time on my hands I decided to make an outfit from scratch. I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I mean,I'm used to customising but making things from scratch is a bit more complicated. I made an umbrella skirt with matching crop top. In the original sketch I did the top had leather shoulder pads and no cut outs but while I was making it, it looked a bit plain so I added some cutouts to the front and back. I have to say I'm really pleased with the results,I honestly didn't think I could do it. Can't wait to wear it!!
